Locally grown on Ewa Sugar Plantation. When the plantation changed owners in the late 1960ʻs, we changed addresses. From my father’s world of sugar plantations (he grew up in Waialua where his father worked for Waialua Sugar Co,) to my mother’s world at Niu, on the outskirts of Honolulu, where her family has five generations of roots, I am an Oʻahu girl. After attending three DOE schools (Ewa Beach, ʻAina Haina, Kahala, I graduated to Punahou. After high school, I spent three years in Europe, and the next six years in New York City. That seemed long enough. If you are puzzled about names, read He inoa . . . who ???
Hello
I would like to contact Isamu Murakami who lived in Ewa. My Aunt “Pat” Hathale Ancill Cushnie and Uncle “Bob” Robert Alexander Cushnie also live and raised 4 boys Harold, Jay, Larry & Robbie in Ewa. He worked at Sugar Cane Plantations from when he commenced work. In 1962 he was General Field Supervisor at Ewa for 8700 acres. I visited & stayed with them at Ewa many many times from 1957 to 1969 when I was 12 years old & my family migrated to Australia. I have been trying to find out their address in Ewa for years. I think they moved Ewa in abt 1942 and stayed in Ewa until 1970, when Uncle Bob retired and they moved to Lanai.
The best way to contact me is via email.
